Hi everyone newbie to this group I was wondering if anybody could recommend a plug-in that would work well with drum samples in ProTools I tried Steven slate trigger but couldn't get past the accessibility issues to get it loaded in the first place lol or could possibly give me some tips for using flotools with properly placing and pasting  drum samples the standard videos on YouTube don't seem to really apply here lol I have figured out how to move between the tracks for tab to transient I think I spelled that wrong lol but I can't seem to properly import my drum samples or use the cut command, thank you for your time

Honestly I'd say your best bet is simply loading drum samples onto tracks, one for kick, snare etc then cutting and pasting them at the desired spots in the timeline. Say, bar 1 beats 1 and 3 for kick, 2 and 4 for snare and so on. Of course this would be painful for anything intricate and detailed however for looping a 4 bar pattern or whatever it would work well as once the loop was made you could bounce the tracks down to a single track and simply copy paste or duplicate the loop where ever and however many times you wanted. There are of course other ways of doing it but this is how I'd do it, depends on your wants and needs though and I'm sure others here would have other cool ideas. Hope this helps.

Hey Josh,

I don't typically use sample replacement on live kits with multiple
velocities etc, so this may not suit what you want to do, but when I
do need a sample on a snare or something, I'll import my sample into
the session to a track adjacent to my snare, copy it to the clip
board, and then with tab to transient on I move through the session,
finding all the main snare hits on the snare track. Its a bit annoying
as you have to deselect the snare track every time you paste the
sample in place on its own track but it gets the job done for me.

if anyone out there has a better solution or a way to speed this
workflow up then let me know.

hope that helps,
Brian.

Have you tried the new convert audio to MIDI function of Melodyne Essential?
