First IP Telephony Trade Show in Asia

iLocus.com announced that it is hosting the first IP telephony trade show in
Asia in May 2000. The event, iLocus.com Show (Asia 2000), will be held in
Hong Kong Exhibition Centre from May 8th to the 10th.

The recent breakthrough in talks on China・s entry into WTO has rejuvenated
the interest of foreign companies in the regional telecommunications market.
In China, successful IP telephony trials are already underway. The region in
general is set to lead the pace of deployment of new and innovative
services. In a survey carried out by iLocus.com, 64 of the 150 IP telephony
companies interviewed said that Asia is that most lucrative market for IP
telephony equipment and services.

there has not been a single trade show for this industry in the region,；

repeated each year. We aim to facilitate the best networking event and an
ideal place for companies to present a positive image to IP telephony
professionals and prospects in the Asia-Pacific.；
The event will be a mix of exhibition and conference devoted entirely to IP
telephony, providing the best opportunity to meet the right people. Apart
from the exhibition, there will three parallel tracks for the conference,
bringing together a total of over 50 to 60 speakers for the three-day event.
Over 3000 sq.m of space has been dedicated for the Show. There will also be
four hospitality rooms available to sponsors.
Target attendees include executives from carriers who have either already
deployed or are exploring the deployment of IP telephony technology, new
entrants in circuit switched environment, existing ITSPs, resellers, ISPs,
IP telephony vendors, and Value Added Resellers.
The Show is also expected to attract officials from regulatory bodies,
prospective enterprise users, telecommunications analysts and venture
capitalists.
The approximate attendance that can be accommodated is about 1,100. The
floor plan is set so that all those attending the conference will pass
through the exhibition hall.
