There are only three versions of Cubase all of which offer basic digital audio workstation (DAW) functionality. Steinberg take their main fully featured flagship product and remove features to create products that hit certain price points. The most basic product Cubase Elements 10 is firmly aimed at the begginer and the main difference is that there are limitations to the number of plugins you can run. Cubase Artist 10 also has limitations but is powerful enough for most home studios. The flagship product Cubase Pro 10 is aimed at the professional and has no limitations as well as powerful functions to aid the workflow process.

However, there is a reason that the full version of Cubase costs almost twice as much as Artist. Features such as Mixconsole History, Cloud Collaboration, Plug-in Sentinel & much more make the extra cash spent more than worth it.

If you are purchasing the software for a professional environment or if you are not phased by the price tag then choose the full version of Cubase 9 because it has features that define it as one of the market leaders in the Digital Audio Workstation market.

Steinberg are very supportive of people in the Education sector. If you are a full-time student or a teacher at a public or private school then you will be eligable to purchase one of the Cubase versions at a discounted price. This only applies to full versions, there is no education discount for updates and upgrades. Although we do not require any proof of eligibility Steinberg may request this proof when you register the software.

American record company. It was founded in Los Angeles in 1962 by the former US army trumpeter Herb Alpert and the promoter-producer Jerry Moss. For first few years, A&M depended largely on revenues from Alpert's own recordings. His easy-listening instrumental music recorded with the Tijuana brass had sold over 20 million copies by 1968, when the company's turnover was $50 million. In 1966 A&M also scored a big success with Sergio Mendes and the Sandpipers' single, Guantanamera. Moss, however, was keen to broaden the appeal of A&M, and began recording such West Coast artists as Captain Beefheart and Dr John. In 1969 the label opened its first British office and by the early 1970s A&M also signed American recording deals with such artists as Procol Harum, The Move, Joe Cocker, Jimmy Cliff and Cat Stevens.

Music production software company based in Berlin, with a branch in New York. Ableton (Ableton AG) was founded in 1999 by Gerhard Behles, Robert Henke, and Bernd Roggendorf. Its main product is a computer program called Live, which was released in 2001. This is a digital audio workstation (DAW) environment for recording audio and MIDI with an emphasis on working in real time, essentially allowing the user to play the software as an instrument. Practically any operation can be controlled via MIDI. Since its introduction, Live has become popular among electronic music artists for its ability to allow spontaneous manipulation of audio in a performance situation. Many manufacturers of MIDI controllers have developed control surfaces for Live, bridging the gap between software and hardware.
