My students and I have been having a problem with version 1.80.00 in which the GUI suddenly stops responding. Clicking on items in a routine no longer bring up the dialog box. Nothing really responds. Then if we try to save at that point, then we get an error called "Common dialog failed with error code 2" (see screen capture attached). Then need to hard close using Task Manager. Unfortunately, then we have found that after this the psyexp file goes to 0 kb and we have to start over.

Anyone else experiencing this and any suggestions? We will try upgrading to 1.80.01 to see if this helps. We are running on Windows 7.

Sorry, I've not heard of this error before and can't think what would cause it. And it wasn't occurring in older versions?

We don't think that it was occurring before this version but can't be
totally sure about that as we have mostly been working under 1.80.00.

It has been happening quite a bit with one experiment that we have
been editing quite heavily. It also happens fairly randomly (love
those random errors!!). The last two days, no problems. Wednesday we
had lots of problems.

We will certainly try to keep track of any further problems but we are
mostly collecting data now and it seems to run fine when just
collecting data. Problems mostly seem to be during editing.

I am experiencing this problem too. Has anyone had any luck with a solution (other than saving multiple versions every once in a while)?

Here's the error message when opening the file.
