Customer Service: We have an obligation to make sure anyone we will be paying is of legal age to be on the site. We also use the Model Release and ID check in the case of cams with multiple people, to make sure that everyone is aware they are part of the broadcast.

Customer Service: CAM4 would only appear on searches of your real name if you personally associated the two in some way. For example, if you used your real name as your username, or published an email address/Facebook/Twitter/Skype account that is connected to your real name.

Customer Service: Make sure you keep your account information to yourself, be cautious when accepting files from anyone, and do not accept people in Skype claiming to work for CAM4. We will not approach you in this way, ever.

CAM4 Coach: So the best advice is to keep your camming on CAM4 and never give out your password! Speaking of giving out information, does CAM4 share any of my personal information with 3rd parties?

Please keep in mind that not all new members are fraudulent. Someone with a longer history at CAM4 does tend to be safer but there is always a possibility of a member contacting their bank and stating they did not make the purchases (chargeback).

What Do I Do If I Suspect Fraud?
If at any time you feel someone is fraudulent and wish to refuse their tip, please notify us at tip...@cam4.com and we will take care of that for you.

Please keep in mind that all tokens tipped are purchased through one of our processors. Voids are tokens that were purchased with a stolen credit card or the tipper contacted their bank stating they did not make the purchase.

If your videos/images are uploaded to a download site (such as 4shared or Megaupload) your best bet is to contact them first to request the removal. Have the URL links to your uploaded video(s) ready. Upload sites are more apt to respond quickly as this violates their policy.

By doing shows elsewhere, you run the risk of getting too close to a fan and potentially ruining the fantasy you project when you are performing live on CAM4. Fans may get confused at this level of intimacy, they start to feel close to you and feelings may be hurt. You could even end up losing a great fan.

A useful tip for password protection is to use different passwords for all of your online accounts. That way, if someone does get access to your password, the damage will be contained to only one account

Use a package forwarding service when setting up your Amazon wish list or any other wishlist you may have. This service gives you an American address that all of your things will be shipped to, then they will notify you when something arives and ship it directly to you. No one ever sees your address!

All CAM4 broadcasters have the ability to block multiple locations or countries they do not wish to be viewed in. This means while
on CAM4, no one in your blocked locations is able to see you, look you up, or access your chat room from any computer, laptop, tablet, ipad, or mobile phone.

This will stop you from seeing someones chat in the room but only you, everyone else will be able to see their chat. This function is better suited for viewers to ignore each other, performers should use silence instead.

You have the power to choose a helper in your shows. This person will be able to do some of your dirty work for you like banning and silencing negative people. This is a big responsibility though so make sure you communicate how you want your room run to your moderator so everything runs smoothly.

When you kick someone out of your room they ca come right back in so this tool is best to get control of a situation if you need to. For example, two of your viewers are having an argument so you kick both of them out as a wake up call.

Fraud Awareness There is no way to tell if someone tipping is fraudulent, but there are things you can look for to protect yourself that will help keep it to a minimum and also benefit your fellow broadcasters.

My show was recorded and uploaded Whether you broadcast or post images online you run the risk of someone reposting your content. If you find your CAM4 videos/images uploaded to another website please make a list of links to each of the videos/images you wish to have removed and send it to dm...@cam4.com, and we will be pleased to try and help you get them removed.

Browsers: Keep one browser for camming, and use another for everything else to avoid confusion between performing and your personal life. If you choose to use one browser, another option is to create separate browser profiles for work and personal life.

Family and friends: In addition to creating separate profiles above, please use the site blocking feature which allows you to block up to three countries/states from viewing your cam. Details on adding a block can be found here

Email: Create an email account for your broadcaster profiles, use this for the site, social media profiles, and signups for IDs on personal messaging apps. Keep your personal address separate.

Getting your own domain: This is also an excellent promotional tool. If you choose to sign up for your own domain, please make sure that you also purchase the domain privacy protection offered by your registrar. If you do not complete this step, a public search of the domain record will reveal your real name and address.

Google alerts: Setup a Google alert at for your real name to see how often it is mentioned online as a safety measure. You can also set up an alert for your broadcasting name(s) to monitor the success of your promotional efforts.

Audio: Performing with sound is a good thing to maximize your tips but be careful if you receive a phone call during your show. Please either mute your microphone or take the call to another room to prevent everyone in your room from listening in to the call.

Background: Please be aware of your background. Power outlets, wall clocks, and sunset or sunrise are all to be considered when trying to maintain your privacy. Audible television or radios should also be turned off or the volume lowered as those too can reveal your location.

Keeping your computer safe. While this article applies to all operating systems it deals specifically with Windows as it represents the Operating system used by the majority of our members. For Mac and Linux users not everything may apply but please make sure you take the equivalent measures for your own systems.

Operating System: Make sure your operating system is up to date, use Windows Update to automatically keep your machine updated. Windows updates are issued to patch known security problems, fix stability issues, and update some features of your operating system.

Firewalls and Anti-virus. Make sure you have both of these installed and kept up to date. These days to keep this simpler many of the major vendors offer suites of software that will offer anti-virus, a firewall, web browser and email safety features as well as scanning tools for other adware/malware that may be out there. I have listed some of the available packages below, some are paid others are free.

Malware Scanners: It is a good idea to scan at least weekly for additional malware such as adware, spyware browser hijackers, keyloggers, trojans, etc. To do this I would suggest either Ad-Aware or Malwarebytes, both of these products offer both a free and paid version.

Wireless networking: Where possible it is best to switch your wireless router settings to a stronger security level, make sure it is set to WPA2 with AES and ensure you have a strong password in place (See choosing a strong password). It is essential to lock down your wireless router to make sure that other people cannot make use of your wireless network or gain access to the machines on your network. Most service providers will do this as part of their setup of your connection, but if you are unsure please contact them. If you have installed your own wireless router please check the documentation on how to make these changes yourself.

File downloads: You will find those that are all too eager to send you links to downloads or offer you pictures through personal messengers such as Skype or Yahoo. Unless you know the person very well I would suggest refusing these offers. All too frequently the link they send you to, or the file you download, will be some form of a virus or a keylogger allowing that individual to capture your account names, passwords, banking information, and anything else that may be of value on your machine for their own purposes. Being cautious with what you will accept combined with a good virus/malware product is your best defense against these individuals.
