Dear all,


Please be informed that the validation of the Professional Quality of Life (ProQOL-5) scale in the Nepali language has been carried out. The Burnout domain of the Professional Quality of Life (ProQOL-5) scale was not validated. Still, the components of Secondary Traumatic Stress (STS) and Compassion Satisfaction (CS) were retained with omission of some of the items. 


The study concluded that burnout is largely a Western Concept for Nepali Doctors, and even more so for Nepali society. Future research is required to define and measure burnout in this context.
