Some ............. ideas

The schools in Greece are teaching vocational guidance and they do it
in a manner that is missing a lot of elements. Vocational Guidance is
a key skill to be teached to the young's as it can help the
development of ideas, self esteem, and other necessary skills to bring
their dreams into reality and not to spoil them. I believe that there
is possibility for us to help on this subject and offer to the young
kids the opportunity to get involved in creative learning so they can
investigate the possibilities for them and understand better the
various occupations. The teenagers have to see how the different
pathways are interact in real life and have to learn to be self
motivated and get involved in activities getting the best out of them.
Its also good for them to see the way an occupation can be form/occur
from those random possible activities and the way to think and act
when dealing with self employment.

The idea then is to see how is it possible for us to make a scheme
that can support this aim for a couple of hours once or twice per week
for next winter!
There is space available and if the attendance is more than expected
it is possible to use some classes of a local school.
A rough estimation shows that to run this we have to get hold of more
or less 20 professionals to demonstrate and explain the nature of
their job as well as 2-3 people to coordinate the whole project to the
end!

Some ideas ..................part 2

For the summer period there is something i think possible to happen.
Given that there are enough tools to do the most of technicians work
there is the possibility to run a DIY workshop for kids for a couple
of months during summer period!
There can be a target project (i.e. a small battery car as a group
project or many individual easy and achievable projects) to be work
around and the people can learn to work with tools taking account of
the hazards of the working environment, learn to modify things and be
teached from people that have mature experience on handcraft.

:) too many ideas for today !

Social innovation thoughts strike again

An idea is to learn and swap language. In this context, anybody is
welcome to teach and be taught a foreign language of his choice as
offered by another volunteer.
In our city there are people who speak Albanian, German, French,
Roman, English and other languages. There are also foreigners who want
to improve Greek. It could be possible then for someone to teach
Greek and learn another language as part of the exchange. In the case
of an exchange of language i think many young's will show interest in.
Its so creative for a teenager for example to teach an adult a foreign
language.
And then for those who are just students and not contribute in some
other way a policy can be developed where they can donate food like
olive oil, honey, bread, vinegar, fruit and other traditional and
local food products to be used within the space.
