Ijust got an HP Laser 107w printer, and even when my Mac detected the printer and is using a driver called HP laser 103 107 108, nothing gets printed. The printer icon appears on the dock, if you open the print list, there's a printing job "printing" but in reality nothing happens!!

The HP Laser 107w is listed in About AirPrint - Apple Support as a model supporting the driverless AirPrint technology. An AirPrint-enabled printer is compatible with macOS (Big Sur). Normally, this would mean that you can use this model without having to install drivers, provided that the printer and the computer are connected to the same network (Wi-Fi router). However, according to Hp laser 107 driver for Big Sur solved ? - Apple Community, some difficulties have also been reported.

I tried reinstalling the app, restarting the printer, using HP Easy Start, nothing works. I'm also getting this "fax.backend will damage your computer", which I tried to fix using HP Uninstaller, but again, didn't work and I'm getting seriously pissed and frustrated.

There is no printer driver available for this model printer on the HP Support site to work on macOS. However, this model printer is AirPrint compatible. There is no other option than using the AirPrint driver to install and print from your Mac(recommended).

Bonjour locates devices such as printers, other computers, and the services that those devices offer on a local network using multicast Domain Name System (mDNS) service records. The software comes built-in with Apple's macOS and iOS operating systems.

The other steps were to check the connectivity between the devices. We will have to perform the troubleshooting steps to resolve this issue. If you want to ease your efforts, I think this issue needs some additional technical assistance that can be better provided through one-on-one interaction or a remote session with our HP Support team.

I have an USB-connection with my HP Laser 107w printer, and installed the driver from the HP support page uld-hp_V1.00.39.12_00.15.tar.gz. I could install the ppd, HP_Laser_10x_Series.ppd, which is in that package, no indications that there are errors.

If your system has at least 2GB of memory, you can install Lubuntu 22.04.2 again (on your system) as a Virtual Machine (VM). My choice would be to install Oracle VirtualBox for creating and running VMs.

Before you try something you can and should make a snapshot of the fresh baseline of the VM. If needed, you can go back to that quickly. Without the lengthy process of reinstalling the VM from the ISO.

When I received the printed, I tried following the tutoriallinux guide. So, I downloaded the uld driver from the hp site (at that point I found out that HP Laser 107a was basically a rebranded Samsung printer which used the uld driver). When I connected the printer to the laptop, although the printer was recognized I was unable to print. Initially, the "Printing Options" dialog was empty and upon closer inspection I realized that there was no PPD.

Then I came across the following ask ubuntu question which addresses 18.04 LTS and 19.04. I followed as closely as possible the instructions and I managed to select the proper driver (HP Laser 10x Series), either by selecting the database (initially), or by locating the PPD file in the /opt/ folder. In either case the result was the same:

Upon closer inspection I realized that the URI of the printer was "file:///dev/null", which explains why everything was submitted. Also, whenever I opened the printer dialog from e.g. Libreoffice or a PDF viewer, and I was trying to select the printer, all I got was "Waiting for printer ...". I suspect this might be also be explained by the URI.

The next step was to try another distribution. I tried Manjaro with a 5.4 kernel and followed a similar path with the tutoriallinux article, running Xcfe. I managed to get the test page without problems or hiccups also. I additionally checked the URI dialog from the CUPS client and saw that the URI was usb:/HP/[....] (i.e. not file:///dev/null)

I've also tried the Debugging Printing Problems page, with limited success, because I can't get lpinfo -v in my Ubuntu 20.04 installation to identify the printer (in Manjaro it was identified).

This indicates that the printer understands the IPP-over-USB protocol. See here. On Ubuntu 20.04 ippusbxd is responsible for IPP-over-USB communication. ippusbxd commandeers the USB interface so that nothing else can use it. That is why lpinfo -v does not show a usb URI. Manjaro does not use ippusbxd by default as Ubuntu does.

New printers often use the IPP protocol for driverless scanning. Yes, driverless. Apple Airprint mandates use of IPP over wifi. So when you see a printer supporting Airprint, you know that the printer supports IPP at least over wifi. When such a printer also supports USB, you can most often expect IPP to be also supported on USB, and not only the weird protocols that proprietary drivers use. When this is the case, you can use ipp-usb to make the printer available to cups.

The European Union has introduced the EU Tyre Label by Regulation (No. 1222/2009) identically and bindingly for all EU member states. It applies to passenger car tyres, light commercial vehicle tyres and heavy commercial vehicle tyres produced after 01.07.2012.Three different areas are tested: rolling resistance, wet grip and the rolling noise the tyre makes on the road. The following are not affected by the EU Tyre Label: retreaded tyres, professional off-road tyres, racing tyres, tyres with additional devices to improve traction such as spiked tyres, T-type emergency tyres, special tyres for fitting to vehicles first registered before 1 October 1990, tyres with a maximum authorised speed of 80 km/h, tyres for rims with a nominal diameter of 254 mm or less or 635 mm or more.

With this regulation, the European Union is pursuing the goal of promoting economic and ecological efficiency in road traffic as well as increasing road safety on the one hand, and on the other hand, granting consumers more product transparency and at the same time serving as an active decision-making aid.

Already during the incorporation, experts criticise the fact that the EU Tyre Label unfortunately only shows a few product characteristics. Apart from rolling resistance, wet grip and rolling noise, which are the main focus of EU tyre labelling, tyres have much more important and safety-relevant product characteristics, such as aquaplaning properties, driving stability, service life, braking properties on dry and wet roads, behaviour in wintry conditions, etc.
