The reason for the strong test to opposite beliefs is you belief of both statements, as in no strong belief to either.

I have been practising with Psych-K for about 1 year now - overall it
    has been an invaluable tool.

One of the areas I get stuck in is that frequently I balance for a new
positive belief and I test strong, and yet I also test for the
negative old belief and I test strong for it too.
e.g. - "I am full of energy." "I am fatigued."
"I accept my anger." "I reject my anger."
"I am eternal." "I am mortal."
I am puzzled by this. I wonder what the theory of psych-k says about
this? My understanding is that it is presumed that new beliefs
override and erase old beliefs, but that specificity is key in that
the new belief needs to be directly opposing, not just 'in the
ballmark'. But it seems I am doing this, e.g. with the above.
To me this feels like inner conflictedness, part of me believing one
thing, part of me believing the opposite.
I wonder what to do. I think maybe I could use an 'erase technique/
practise' like Emotion Freedom Technique on the old belief. However,
this is a lot of extra time and energy too. I wonder if there is
something more obvious I am missing.

    Any feedback on this?
I am especially intrigued to hear from others who have experimented
with testing both their new and the old beliefs.

    Thanks!

    Hi Bradley,

Your email says you've been practicing Psych-K for about 1 year, and just wondering if you have done any of the advance Psych-K such as core belief balances?

Very common to test both weak and strong and to have these conflicting beliefs. Core belief balances work for this so just asking the obvious first.

    Hi, Bradley,
    What about

"Every part of me is ready. willing, & able to be filled with energy."

"I am consistently filled with energy that I use to accomplish my goals."

"I accept my anger & then release it easily & quickly now."

"My body is mortal & my spirit eternal."

It seems that some of your examples stated 2 truths. "I am filled with
energy & feel fatigued." You can be both at the same time.
You can accept your anger & then choose to release it. Accepting where you
are eliminates internal conflict. Choosing to change your feelings is
    empowering.
I don't know if I understood where you were coming from but hope I
    reframed it for you.
    Good luck,
    Jeanne

Hi Bradley,
If I'm understanding you correctly, you start out with a limiting statement which you test weak to: "I am full of energy"
Upon balancing for the statement you test strong to "I am full of energy" and you also test strong to "I am fatigued". Is that right?

The first thing I would say is that you need to go back into the balance.  Retest the hook-up and return to repeating your statement. When you feel the shift, lock it in and test the original statement and the opposite of the statement.
If still strong/strong, go back into the balance.
Remember, there are 4 different hook-ups that you can be in for one New Direction Balance.
If you have already done this, please repost.

Hello Yolanda

I am curious what you mean by hook-ups? and that there are 4 of them? I am an Advanced Facillitator from New Zealand and I am not sure I have come across hook ups........

Can you please explain to me what this means?

I am following this thread with interest and it is great to see all the support out there for PSYCH-K users.

Keep it up everyone.

Peace always

My apologies, I should have said cross-over preferences.
When you determine the crossover preferences (ankles and wrists) for the whole brain posture in the New Direction Balance, there are potentially 4 different configurations.
Normally one balance uses a cross-over preference. But, occasionally more than one cross-over preference must be used. After you feel the shift and while still in the sitting position, say "This process is complete".
If weak retest the crossover preference, ankles and wrists, and go back into the balance. You could potentially have to do this 4 times. Sometimes the cross-over preference will be the same, sometimes not. But, if the balance has not completed, AND your subconscious mind preference was the New Direction Balance, then stay in the balance until the belief clears.

If this is a constant problem of having to go back into the cross-over preferences multiple times you might want to do a balance for that.
"When I balance for a goal, it is completed easily and quickly".... If that is what you are wanting.
It could be that you are learning all kinds of things in those long balances, be curious.
I hope that helps.
