Hi
A current client of mine has major self-worth issues.

I was considering if there is anything to prevent us from modifying
the core belief balance to contain (e.g.) a suite of 13 positive
beliefs all about aspects of self worth, and using the rest of the
process, ecology, integration, etc, as is.

i.e. From what I understand, we are using a surrogate BP to balance
for these 13 beliefs, so it would allow us to balance up really
strongly for self-worth, confidence, or any other topic of choice
presumably by replacing and balancing in this way.

Does this make sense and are there any contra-indications to doing
this.

With thanks,

- Stewart

Hi Stewart...

I'm pretty new to PSYCH-K and maybe you've already done this
but...have you done a core belief balance with your client using 'self-
worth' as a goal for the balance?

I just did this on myself this morning and I felt shifts right
away...actually I did it twice with a different goal each time...one
was on 'perfect health' and the other was on 'myself in
relationships'...two areas I've been working with since I was directed
to PSYCH-K...

I know it says on the sheet that the core belief balance 'is typically
used once without a specific goal. It can also be used to balance for
a specific goal when the subconscious selects it as the best balance
method. When used for a specific goal, the core belief statements
relate to that goal.' So this would lead me to believe that you
wouldn't need to change the statements...just change the goal
instead...

Hope this helps...

Dear Stewart,

My name is Larry Valmore, and I am a Certified PSYCH-K Instructor.
Thank you for writing about this.

Tanya's response to you is very good. Because the Core Belief Balance
is in a real sense the beginning point of PSYCH-K (because it was the
pattern that was 'downloaded' into Rob's mind), it's better not to
mess with it. At the same time, it is quite valid to use the Balance
(assuming Commitment) to reach a goal of self-esteem, or any other
goal.

In such a case, the pattern goes like this:

1. Establish Communication
2. Pre-test the self-worth statement
3. Permission (It's safe and appropriate to balance for this goal
now.)
Test for VAK, do if necessary
Commitment (Every part of this system is ready, willing, and able to
balance for this goal using the Core Belief Balance.) If yes, then the
Core Beliefs will test in relationship to the self-esteem goal
statement.
4. Do the Core Belief Balance exactly as instructed.
5. Post-test the statement from Step 2.
6. Celebrate!

BTW, there is a technical error in your description of the Core Belief
Balance. We do not use a surrogate BP to balance for the 13 beliefs.
We discover a priority Core Belief to balance, then balance that
belief with the priority BP. The surrogate belief point idea comes in
the Relationship Balance.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Larry. I understand. I was not using the term surrogate
literally but rather as a general reference to that part of the
process.
