Recently, a friend of mine gave me a metaphor for observing things
from another angle. I loved it and wanted to share with you all.
He presented: If you have a field of horses surrounded by a strong
healthy fence and then one day you notice there is a hole in that
fence, and the horses are getting out. Do you shoot the horses for
what they have done or fix the hole in the fence?
many times we may have a problem in life, rather than fix the
problem we beat ourselves up for the problem and things that we have
not done, things we cannot be or do...shooting ourselves? Then we
notice we are doing this and start changing the beliefs causing us to
beat ourselves up..."I treat myself good" I am kind to my
understanding" and so on. All the while we may be missing the hole in
the fence, where we should be changing beliefs. The hole is the source
of the problem, it is where the resistance lies...and it usually leads
to an experience we have had in the past.
Shanti,
Allice
