After reading the reviews about the "Psych" episode and the episode of
Law and Order: SVU where Cynthia Nixon guest starred, it made me think
about other celebrities who have appeared in movies or TV. movies
about mental illness. Most notably in the last 2 years was the life
story of Temple Grandin (2010) starring Claire Danes. Temple Grandin
is a woman who has had autism her entire life and become one of the
top most scientists in the humane livestock handling industry. The
link below is an article that the real Temple Grandin wrote about her
experience with autism.

I really found it interesting that Temple assumed while she was
growing up that everyone saw the world the way she did, visually,
through the use of pictures! Also, she stated that everyone who has
autism are extremely detail orientated. She states there are three
ways of learning with people who have autism; Visual thinking,
thinking in pictures, music and math thinking and verbal logic
thinking.

about Temple’s life

Thanks Brendan. These are great links. I haven't seen the Claire Danes film yet but this reminded me that I wanted to. I have a friend who saw Temple Grandin speak in Philly and he said it was an incredible experience.
