SC moved to bring back ‘Rajiv money’

SC moved to bring back ‘Rajiv money’
New Delhi, Oct 31, DHNS:

An advocate on Monday filed a PIL in the Supreme Court seeking direction to UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi to authorise him to bring back 8.06 billion Swiss franc (about Rs 4.56 lakh crore), allegedly stashed away in a Swiss bank account by former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi in 1989.

The petitioner, Manohar Lal Sharma, claimed that the money was lying dormant in the Swiss bank and, if unclaimed, would go to the Swiss government.

Sharma based his information on Swiss magazines “SI 46/1991 - Fluchtgelder - Seiten 40/41,” and “SI 46/1991— flight capital—pages 40/41,” which he said carried details of the amount held by politicians of different countries, including Rajiv Gandhi.

He said the journals disclosed a list of politician-account holders along with their photos. One of the accounts belonged to the late Gandhi, having a balance of Swiss franc 2.5 billion since 1989, which had grown to 8.06 billion Swiss franc.

Hope UPA-II will not stall return of blackmoney stashed in foreign countries as per list released. Pranab may be made scapegoat as in 2G note release.

Interest on deposits dude! Read the last sentence. "...having a balance of Swiss franc 2.5 billion...which had grown to 8.06 bill.." Besides that way they can open new accounts for themselves in their and their benami names easily without further documents!

No confusion. It is a smart move in fact. Inspite of being heirs to illgotten money, Sonia and Rahul are silent. Hence this man is willing to take the responsibility to bring back the money to the nation, and that can be done only if Sonia and Rahul give him the Power of Attorney. Now, who will give PoA for Billions of Dollars? Sonia and Rahul would be in a crunch now, if they deny, they will lose the money, if they give PoA they will lose the money. It is a Lose-Lose situation for the Gandhis...

Sonia or Rahul can not remain silent on such accusations. They should come out clearly to say that the news published in the Swiss Magazine is false and defamatory. They should claim hefty damage from the publishers of the magazine. They should understand that they are the representatives of 120 million Indians and they should not keep quiet on such revealations since it would bring bad name to the entire Idian population. Will they have the courage to challenge the magazine? Silence by them is an indication that they accept the guilt.

Mr. Srinivasan, India's population is 1,200 MILLION (i.e. 1.2 BILLION) and NOT 120 million. Second the news about the news about Rajiv Ghandi's Swiss Bank account has been a PUBLIC SECRET for quite some years. In the last few years a Swiss Bank (which has Rajiv Ghandi's accounts) reported all foreign account holders and the source of their deposits to the US Government under an agreement between the Swiss & US Governments. When the report was prepared and sent to the US Government, Rajiv Ghandi (NOT Gandhi) had US 2 BILLION (2000 MILLION) in 1982 and now may be it is worth around US 15 Billion Dollars, and the source was Russia's Secret Service KGB. If you use Google and spend some decent time you will see the original news. Try this site http://kish.in/rajiv-gandhi-has-a-swiss-bank-account/. Have a nice day. DAS

Swiss magazine which reported Rajiv Gandhi's holdings in Swiss Banks obviously reported based on the wikileaks report on the same which was revealed by a Swiss bank employee who walked away with a huge list from the bank where he was working. This is a case of Indian politician getting caught "red handed" having stashed a huge sum of money in the Swiss Banks. Why is this a defamation when a robber has really been caught (posthumously). Indian government, if they have any inclination for uprooting corruption, should go all out to bring back the money. Sure, if Sonia and Rahul are not talking, it is because they have things to hide. Country needs to take action against them, they are not above law.
