Bose Corp Seminar

Thursday, March 20 at 12:00 Noon
214 Applied Science Building

Refreshments served

Description:

Neal Lackritz of Bose Corp will provide a talk about an ongoing research effort at Bose code named "Project Sound".  Despite the name, Project Sound is not directly related to sound or audio systems, but does involve many aspects of acoustics, vibration, signal processing and control system theory that should be of interest to students and faculty in Acoustics and related engineering disciplines. The project is also an example of the kind of high risk research effort that can be sustained over an extended period of time by a privately held, research-oriented company like Bose.

About the presenter:

Neal Lackritz has been a research engineer at Bose Corporation in Massachusetts since 1994.  His primary areas of research are automotive suspensions, non-linear controls, and signal processing.  Before joining Bose, he worked on parallel supercomputer architectures at IBM and MIT. He earned dual BS degrees in electrical engineering and computer science from MIT in 1989 and an MS degree in electrical engineering from MIT in 1992.
