Run the FTP DOS program INET which displays the version number of FTP
software that you're running. If it doesn't read Version 2.05 PL4 then
contact MOC (in 12 Willard), 863-4356, indicate your proof of FTP, Inc.
license, and have them send you the latest version of FTP software.
This update is covered by the site license which I'm assuming you
obtained the software under.

Install update; then try to reproduce this problem and please report
back to: DLB at psuvm.psu.edu, HDK at psuvm.psu.edu, and
MAC at psuvm.psu.edu. It would also be good to followup this posting with
the results of the update and attempt to reproduce the problem you are
experiencing.

In your case you are running DOS 4.01 and we're assuming that's up to date.
Any DOS 5.0 user should apply DOS 5.0 updates as per my posting under
psu.comp.micro on 7/16/92.

Config: IBM PS/2 mod50z
DOS 4.01
Cabletron E3010 10-baseT nic
ftp tcp/ip software
connection via tn3270 program

Error: In use of shift-prtscrn to print active screen of 3090 session, we
have a machine lock up with the error "a zero length 3270 data stream
was received" & Xsys showing on the bottom. It doesn't seem to make
any difference if the cursor returns to the command line or status
line, data is successfully printed but machine requires a power off-
on cycle to reboot. I have been able to repeat this one a second VM
and both in and out of Xedit mode.

I can't quite figure out what is going wrong here. Other pc's (AT-bus w/ 2110
nic's) seem to have cursor move to a mid-screen location on prtscrn & don't get
locked up... is there something different about BIOS implementation of the prt
scrn on a 50z?? Ideas??? Please reply via e-mail.

Thanks in advance...

Problem disappeared for one day. Then we had a new problem, following a print-
screen the PC would not lock up, but the port would hang w/ XSys. At this same
time the forms she was printing started coming out as full pages (the document
is 2 screens and before was only coming out a half at a time sent w/ 2 requests
of prtscrn) on the laser. The alt-f10, q sequence was able to break the link
to MS and she was able to continue working... no other keyboard input was able
to do anything since the port seemed to be the problem. FTP software was the
latest release and it is running DOS4.01. For what it is worth, cursor returned
to the "go to middle of the screen on print screen" behavior instead of to the
command or status lines.

Hope to get back to work on this more next week, but we are starting to move
labs this weekend and that will take up most of my time until monday.
