Someone told me recently that the Pennsylvania State Police had
gone/were going to move to an 800 MHZ radio system. True? I have
public service band frequency lists of older PSP frequencies,
but haven't been listening much and don't know if they changed...

All I can say is that in my recent travels up and down I-95, the state
police vehicles still have VHF Hi antennas on them. No sign of any
UHF or 800 MHZ antennas yet.

PSP is still on their VHF split simplex system...Base to Mobile and Tacs on
154.xxx and Mobile to Base on 158.xxx. From my understanding here in the
western end of the state they will be there for years to come. They hve only
a few of these pairs and you can hear other counties esp. this time of the
year (god I'm sick of hearing Washington County!) As a side note...most of
their unmarked cars out here have look alike 800 mhz antennas on the right
front trunk lip....that along with the standard PA tags means that inless you
look for those things (like some of us) you will never see the trooper coming.
But the antennas are VHF...there is no known 800 here yet. Hope this helps.

Well DCS, I haven't noticed any change in frequencies here in central PA
. I am ( and have been for several years ) using 155.505 , 158.580 ,
155.575 , 155.850 , and one or two others that don't come to mind right
now . Did someone say "Washington County"? Ah.... My home ! How I miss
listening to the scanner in Washington , Greene and Fayette Counties !
