I would like to get a definate answer. Do really need one or not?? I hear some
people leave their PlayStations plugged in the wall even when their not playing
why?? I've always been acustomed to unplugging my video game systems when I am
not playing with them. I would really like to know if I need this "step down
transformer". I heard that most US houses have the proper voltage anyway so why
don't people check their house first before buying something they might not
need. How much of a difference is 110v and 100???

No. You don't need one. I also unplug my systems when not being played
since the transformers are still active. I even have my original power
supply from my Altered Beast Genesis still working after all these years.

Final note..

Why don't we hear of the voltage concerns from NeoCD owners and Saturn
owners? Duo-R owners? etc.... These are all rated with the 100V
label but they are still doing fine. I had my Personal PSX since
Christmas Eve day and it's been crusing along fine. The thing has been
back and forth across the country, in and out of cars, and even through
general baggage at the airport 4 or 5 times....No problems. It's a very
well made machine. Plug it in and enjoy.
