WORKSHOP HIGHLIGHTS

Over 70 workshop sessions are organized into ³Flyways,² or areas of
interest. Each of the Flyways‹natural history, cultural history,
environmental education resources for teachers, problem solving
techniques, skill-based environmental education,
multicultural/international environmental education, and professional
development/administrative‹are informational sessions or extended
workshops designed to suit the needs of the conference participants.


KEYNOTE SPEAKERS

Scott Weidensaul, author of more than two dozen books on natural history,
including Raptors: The Birds of Prey, and the award-winning Mountains
of the Heart: A Natural History of the Appalachians.

Terry Tempest Williams, author of several books, including Refuge: An
Unnatural History of Family and Place, Williams is a recipient of the
National Wildlife Federation¹s National Conservation Award for Special
Achievement.


CONFERENCE SCHOLARSHIPS FOR CLASSROOM TEACHERS

The Silcox Scholarship provides funds for pre-service and in-service
classroom teachers to attend the annual PAEE conference. Applicants for
the Silcox Scholarship should be interested in pursuing innovative methods
of incorporating environmental education strategies within the structured
school environment.
