Hi Folks,

We are beginning on promotion for the Economic Sustainability Taskforce's event this term so I wanted to send you the details. I'm sorry if this is not the first time you're seeing this info, but please keep the below in mind and encourage sustainability/justice -minded individuals to participate in this. We'll have a flier soon as well as other non-physical marketing tactics in place.

Here's the info:

"Setting the Table: A Forum on Food Justice, Sustainability, and the State of Food at PSU"
Brought to you by the Sustainability Leadership Center and the Food Action Collective

When: Thursday, May 31st 4pm-7:30pm
Where: The Browsing Lounge: SMSU 296 (Second Floor) at PSU

Food justice matters. So does environmental sustainability. Portland State University is known as a leader in social and environmental sustainability, but we still have a long way to go. How do we ensure that PSU’s food system is equipped to live up to our ideals and still function efficiently?

We will address the following questions:
  - What is food justice?
  - What does a sustainable and resilient food system look like?
  - How can we find common ground between these two visions?
  - What does PSU’s food system look like?
  - What are people doing to make it more equitable, green, and healthy?
  - What changes should be made to bring our practices in line with our vision?

Featured panelists/speakers:
  - Michele Knaus, Friends of Family Farmers
  - Shawn DeCarlo, Oregon Food Bank
  - Nancy Becker MS RD LD, Oregon Public Health Institute
  - Aramark, PSU's food service provider
  - Mellie Pullman PhD, School of Business Administration
  - Katie Jundt MA, Student Activities and Leadership Programs
  - And more!...

Convene with people who care about cultivating a desirable food system at PSU and gear up for food action in the 2012-13 year!

Feel free to share with your network freely!
