Dear PSU Community!
Spring is approaching, and it is nearly time again to share in the demonstration, celebration and education of sustainability at the 2nd annual PSU Earth Day Festival!
This is a fully student driven event that celebrates the university’s sustainability accomplishments. We strive to demonstrate sustainability in action by producing a fully sustainable event, building community and collaboration, supporting creative arts and expression, and by acting as a platform for sustainability education.
Last year the festival welcomed at least 2,500 attendees, 30 student and campus groups, 25 community non-profits, 15 local art vendors and 5 local food vendors. The festival also featured 5 local and national bands and speaker, Alan Durning, of the Sightline Institute. It was an unprecedented event that showed solidarity within the university and was praised throughout the media! You are invited to an Earth Day Festival forum:
Thursday,
January 20th,
1:00pm in SMITH (338 or GreenSpace, 28)
Contribute your Earth Day vision, share your ideas and learn about leadership and volunteer opportunities. There are various positions to be filled on the Earth Day planning team, and they can be tailored to meet your skills and experience levels. This is great opportunity to showcase your student project, collaborate in a new project or speak out about what sustainability means to you. The festival will be as rich as the diversity in colors and creativity that come together to create it. All voices are welcome through the design and planning process as! Hope to see you there!
Sincerely,
The PSU Earth Day Team
