Mark of Respect to Jenab Sharief
Kunjahi
A poetic symposium to mark the 'Basant Ritu' under the chairmanship
of Sardar Mukhtar Singh and the presidium of Principal Mohan Singh Prem,
president of Punjabi Sahit Sabha Patiala and Mr. DS Asht, the
secretary, and press member Captain Mohinder Singh observed two minutes
silence as a mark of respect to the departed soul of Janab Sharief Kunjahi, the
scholar and the noble son of mother Punjabi, on his untimely
demise.
The congregation prayed to Almighty to bless us all with the
spirit of Punjabi mother-tongue imbibed in us all to facilitate the mission
of Jenab Sharief Kunjahi to serve Punjabi to continue.
All the members are grateful to Ms Shahida Dilawar Shah who
apprised us all of the loss through her article Sharif Kjnjahi Vee Tur
Gayay Jey---------"papered in Daily Charhdikala of 10 February,2007.(web
:http://www.charhdikala.com) The gathering further appreciated the effort of the
scholar Ms Shahida who keeps on writing Punjabi texts in Gurmukhi
script for the benefit of Easten Punjab. This effort of hers builds mutual
confidence leading to establishment of peace in the subcontinent. She needs
encouragement as Ambassador of peace by the concerned.
Shahida ji- You may like to put the print of this text on the
notice Board of the University to which the late scholar remained associated for
a long time as I hear.It is up to you and remains your prerogative.Your
suggestion of publication in khoj patrika of west punjab is not understood to
me. Don't you think west punjab is your side or you want me to do like that
only. Pl.clarify
Mohinder Singh
