I am having great difficulty running the 1.0 firmware version of
pspseq 2.10 on my psp slim!

My firmware version is in the topic here. Obviously there isnt a 1.5
emulator for psp slims yet, but the 1.0 version doesnt work at all!
When placed in my /games folder i get a "corrupted data" icon.

Has anyone else been able to get this working on a slim? Is there
something i missed? It seems fairly straightforward, but any
comments / suggestions would be appreciated!!!

I'd really like to start using this software ;)

Thanks guys.

hey sorry i can't add much as i'm still on 1.50/ye olde PSP, but i'm
curious to know the answer to this too. have you been able to install
any homebrew on your PSP? i think PSPSeq is pretty well behaved,
though perhaps it needs to be rebuilt or modified in some way for the
latest firmware.

oh and in the meantime, you might want to check out the PC version i'm
beta-ing right now. you can grab it here:

http://www.dspmusic.org/psp/PSPSeq210ForWindows-beta1.zip

but be sure to check out the documentation both in this zip and the
PSP version; if you're not familiar with PSPSeq it'll probably seem
pretty obtuse at first.

good luck!

I was able to run Rythm 7.1, snes9x emulator, and doom so far. Im
pretty sure theres a way to get it working, and it feels somewhat
straightforward but I was hoping there was someone out there with a
similar setup to mine and had figured it out.

At this point im hoping a 1.5 emulator addon gets released for the psp
slim...

Really looking forward to getting pspseq working! :P

interesting that those apps work. i don't think i do anything
particularly tricky. i'll ask the rhythm guys if they did anything
special to make it work. there might just be some special way to
convert a PBP into something compatible with 3.71, don't know yet.

oh i just saw that there's a new 3.71 firmware out there. have you
updated to that yet?

also, have you read the pspupdate forums? here's something that may
or may not help:

http://forums.qj.net/f-psp-homebrew-and-hacks-help-21/t-wth-homebrew-not-working-126976.html

reading the forums is both depressing and baffling. here's this
beautiful piece of hardware and the hoops one has to jump through to
use it for homebrew are unbelievable. i think if i ever want to play
PSP games i'll just buy a slim and keep my old on on 1.50
indefinitely. makes me sad though as i'd at least like to test PSPSeq
on other firmwares but i can't imagine i'd have the patience to do it.

I just updated to 3.71 m33-3 and still no go :/

i checked out that other link. 1.50 Kernel addons dont work on slims
yet, and i havent heard any news regarding the progress towards that.
Let me know what the rhythm guys say.

thanks !

great! :)

one of the other PSPSeq users emailed me to say that when running this
firmware combination deleting synths can cause PSPSeq to crash. have
you seen anything like that? i definitely haven't run into it with
1.50 and haven't heard complaints from other users of this program
either. let me know if that's a problem for you, ok? thanks.

Ethan, it looks like people got PSPSeq working with the eloader. Just
a question, is your app compiled to run in kernel mode? You would need
to run it in user mode for it to work on the new psp. You also might
just need to recompile it to support the newer firmwares. this thread
may help:

hey thanks for the pointer. i noticed that i was building with the
PSP_MAIN_THREAD_ATTR macro commented out. i changed the code so now i
have this just before main:

PSP_MAIN_THREAD_ATTR(THREAD_ATTR_USER);

i think that'll do it. i tried building and running on 1.50 and it's
fine. i'm going to make a separate post in a minute with a link to
the new version of PSPSeq.
