Photoshop Editor

I'm on a PC and, like many others, suddenly photoshop elements stopped (photo editor) - although Premiere Video Editor worked fine, although it took a long time to open. It's unfortunate that these programs feel deliberately crippled and terrible UI as an incentive to upgrade to a monthly subscription.

I have a question.
Last year I was working in a studio, where they had an extremely handy functionality in 3ds max, which was this: Say you load a bitmap in an empty slot in a material. Once you go inside the bitmap properties and right-click on its path (see the attached file) there was an "Edit" button, which once clicked the map got opened in photoshop. I also remember that somewhere you could set a default program to open the bitmaps with.
This 3dsMax-Photoshop link was a great time saver for mem but I can't find this in my current installation of 3ds Max. I have checked 3ds max versions 2014, 2018, and 2020.
Totally agree with #cksum, you should mention your capabilities because things can change a lot. I am not a professional, but I think I could do all the processing thigs and the logo better than you with the gimp (and I am just a begginer). I supose you really use photoshop because all the time you are rating it as the easiest one to do all the things.I think the idea of performing this test is magnific, but if you do not have experince in all of them, may be it would be nice to ask someone to do the test with the programs you do no usually use.
