I have switched to Linux, Mint, Cinnamon, but a few problems have developed.

I used Pastor Healers notes posted July 24, 2024, and they are excellent. Following are the problems I have encountered

WINSDR - It opens, but there is no data on the screen. The log file says No USB data Usb Device = 0. I have it set for Comm ! Serial 0, Baud rate 38400

WINQUAKE - Loaded and works with sample files, but unable to change directory to location of my stored files which are in the Document folder

Although both WinQuake and WinSDR show up in the app list, Wine does not show up.

When I click on a PSN4 file in the Documents folder and try to open it, WinQuake does appear in list of options available,. And if I spelll it out as soon as the second letter is entered, the option to set a default program is grayed out.

I want to make it work, and would appreciate any comments.

Thank You

Bob Hancock

You might need to use the `winecfg` tool to assign the physical USB device to a Windows COM port. A quick Google search
on Wine and USB devices should provide more details. Until you get things working, try running WinSDR and WinQuake as
Administrator to avoid any permission issues.

I only run WinSDR under Linux/Wine on one Raspberry PI system so I'm not sure everything works as expected with
WinQuake. You may need to create a Windows drive using winecfg and point the new drive to your Documents folder.

Wine itself may not show up in the apps list, just the programs running under it.

I'm not sure how to setup Linux and Wine to open WinQuake when you click on a PSN file. A google search may point you in
the right direction.

Hi Larry -

I was talking to Jim Skinner the other day and he put me in touch with Jeff Healer (Pastor Healer). We hit it off and he has introduced me to ChatGPT. What a powerful tool. So far I have gotten wine to show up on the main all applications menu. We found that wine was pointing to com34 and corrected to com1 (wine does weird things). We have added com1 to the registry for wine. We have verified that com1 is ok and still no connection. It’s been interesting. I verified the FT232 chip is connected to the usb. Just getting started with ChatGPT but jumping in with both feet.

I changed the directories when installing WinSDR, and WinQuake to C:/Documents. Is that a problem, if so what should be their default directories

Hopefully I will have this solved in a few days, but its challenging and I am learning a whole new skill.

Thanks for everything.
