Hi Steve, longtime no confab ! After two computer failures I need to get my systems back on line.
The only seismo that I have left on line is a "wounded" Guralp 40T (30 sec to 50 Hz) . The vertical
channel went titsup on me about the time the weather turned into the 100's for the summer. Its
finally cooling off during the day so I can go back to working in the seismo shed and getting my
HF antennas back in the air.

Nice to see we are still actively recording. If anybody is interested, instill have three 68000c’s free for the taking here in Aptos. Totally complete in airtight cases. Sam Gazdick passed them on to me and I just don't have the heart to recycle them.

Ken Navarre still in the shadows. Due to annoying highway traffic my local sensor is off line and with no analog telemetry at my location I’m toast…

Hi Ted, longtime-- My first question is, are you in the Bay area? Shipping these would be difficult/expensive at best. I got my pair of Geotechnical 87000c horizontal long-period seismographs from Sam. I have three in storage. I'll be keeping one that needs some work as a backup and can offer you two that I'll test and make sure they are functional. They are cumbersome, probably 80-150 pounds each, and I can barely lift the units in an airtight case. I wish I had documentation or operational information, but I need help finding it if anybody knows of a source. Here is a URL: http://www.psnsanjose.com/recent.htm. The device names are ATV and ATW. Take a look at the output data. I routinely record events in the Far East.

Sam told me these came from the old global seismic network and are mechanically excellent devices. They also have features I'm not using. I just tapped into the main coil and used a preamp. If you are interested, I'll pop off a cover and post some images. Let me know if you are interested. Steve

Hi Steve!  Glad you are OK. No I'm in Arizona but we might be coming to the bay area sometime in the next six months.

Do they look anything like this?  I have one horizontal unit and one vertical but always wanted to get another horizontal unit.

Yeah, that looks like the case. I mistakenly posted 68000c --  They are Geotechnical 87000c horizontal long-period seismographs. The ones I have have removable mass weights matched to the individual units.  You want them; they are yours. I live 6 miles south of Sanat Cruz-- S-

Glad I kicked this seismic anthill.

I'm still here too!  :)  and running a repaired Guralp CMG-40T (30s-100Hz) as well as another Guralp CMG-40T-1 (1Hz-100Hz) out in the back yard.
