Is there any way to update/downgrade psmove controller firmware?

Magnetoscope calibration is disabled in the new controllers, and not sure if it is hardware or software related.

I found something really old, but can't find if they really get any more progress on it.

For the original Move Motion controllers, there is this:

But since Sony never officially released firmware updates, this is
mainly useful for repurposing the controller or hacking the firmware.

If you are talking about Move controllers for the PS4, that seems to be
a hardware downgrade. Magnetometers have been removed. Nothing a
firmware change could bring back.
