Thought this was interesting enough to share with the group.

Thanks, Stefan.

We introverts may not need group cheers, but like every type, we need affirmations from time time--though not in the same form. This form is pretty good. Unfortunately, she needs to feign extraversion to give a pep talk to introverts.

Thanks for sharing Stefan. I had watched it just before PSL, but it was great to watch again in light of PSL.

I've been talking about MBTI in work & its generating some buzz. One interesting point is that several introverts have said they "act" (or feign) at extroversion in work (similar to Susan) & go home to recharge...

Thanks for the video!  It makes me wonder if paired programming could do more harm than good for people who are more "switched on" when they are alone.  That said, as an self-declared introvert I am pretty comfortable when it is just me and one other person.

Speaking of things that reminded me of PSL...  This made me put "building a 4-foot tower from index cards is sooo hard" into perspective:

The team I work with now pairs all the time, and I'm pretty sure they are all introverts. I guess nobody would go to work there if they would be uncomfortable with the pairing. Everyone is encouraged to take breaks to play ping pong or go for a walk, and get out of the office at lunchtime, because it's intense to pair that much.

Now I have to go look at the cardboard bicycle...

Introverts don't necessarily want to be alone.

But they do prefer a small group. How small? I depends on the individual. And the context.

Take me, for example.

I generally prefer to be with Dani than to be alone.

I like being with a friend or two, maybe even three, though that's stretching it.

But seeing the same three one or two at a time is just fine. More than fine.

Thanks, Stefan. I'm not an introvert, but when I was 6, I couldn't run away from home, because my books wouldn't fit into my suitcase. So, introverts aren't the only ones in love with their books!

I agree with much of what she says. There is some work I prefer to do alone. There is some work I prefer to do with other people.

Heh, Johanna, have you seen Moonrise Kingdom? I love that the girl runs away from home with a suitcase full of her most cherished books.

Moonrise Kingdom = awesome. And I agree – it's a fascinating balance. There are times I wonder why I keep 'testing' as an extrovert because I find it absolutely necessary to chill and recharge away from people.

Hope you're all well!
