Hi,

I'm currently testing a WSPR beacon on 40m and a new SDRPlay. The antenna isn't great on the SDRPlay at the moment, but that's just because I'm doing some testing. Anyway, I'm definitely decoding my own WSPR beacon (2E0WHQ) and also G4HSB's WSPR beacon too.

WSJTX is configured for PSK Reporter spotting and I've run a Wireshark TCP dump to check that my laptop is actually sending the PSK Reporter spotting packets, which it is, as I've seen reporting packets for both my own callsign (2E0WHQ) and G4HSB, which are being reported from my WSJXT instance (2E0WHQ, IO91DN). However, despite me sending the spotting packets, I'm not seeing any spots on PSK Reporter when I'm filtering for band: 40m, show signals: Sent/Rcvd from Callsign: 2E0WHQ using: WSPR.

I've had it running for well over an hour and I'm still not seeing any spots. I'd at least expect to see the spots for G4HSB if nothing else.

Is there any reason for my spots not showing?

Thanks,

73,

Dom, 2E0WHQ

Hi Dom

In case you aren’t aware, the primary spotting service for WSPR is WSPRnet- http://www.wsprnet.org/ - not PSK Reporter.

Kind regards
Tom

Hi Tom,

Yes, I was aware, but it's crap and doesn't work. I click on Map and Update and the Map doesn't show. I have to open it up in a Chrome, Incognito window for it to work and the map also shows 'For Development Purposes', hence the reason for wanting to use PSK Reporter. The spots should still show in PSK Reporter.

Cheers,

Dom

I can see that both 2E0WHQ and M6WHQ got themselves registered as using WSJT-X 2.7.0 today (13th UTC). The 2E0WHQ reported around 20 FT8 spots. The M6WHQ reported nothing as far as I can tell.

If you want to send me the packet captures then I can try and figure out what is going wrong.

Yes, but they don’t, and never have. That’s the fact of the matter. The WSPR data is fairly locked up, and it’s a source of annoyance.

There are some other WSPR data visualisations online already which do work, based on scraping wsprnet.

Kind regards
Tom
