Hello everybody!

I have a question: Where does psk-reporter get the QTH or Maidenhead data of a callsign? I'm asking because my QTH is displayed incorrectly on the psk-reporter map. My own locator is JO51JU, but on the map JO50ve45xu is displayed - so this is the locator of OM Martin, who passed away in 2022, and whose callsign I took over when I was licensed in April.

How or where can I correct this?

best regards

The easiest way is to set your six character locator in wsjtx and make sure that spring to pskreporter is turned on. It should update within a few minutes.

I have a similar problem. 13 years ago I moved from IO81em to IO81ap. None of my equipment has been near EM at all. But despite my deletion of all IO81em on the web I still show up on the map as being active at both locations from time to time.

What about software, logging software... When they reporting to psk reporter... Don't catch the grid from decoder/from air... Maybe they take the grid from older logs or callbook instead of the actual...?

When qso cross the same time...
Missing RR and the next station is calling, then the first station wants his RR, then logging software or decoding software also takes wrong time or name or grid ... (from the second station) ... and save it...

Who has the time to check this?
Everybody should...

My opinion is...
Wrong data are then in the logs of om's ... and maybe later in "callbooks" ...
---
And remember...
I saw it minimum two times:
In USA often the owner changing call signs.. and get one from older/other om... The new owner check his data on qrz.com and arrl - okay... But the older owner has saved his data to many other (free of charge/advertising services) ...  And there still stands the older data... until... when?
And now, in a new qso the far station is confused by the data from the free callbook service and the new data on air...
I told one operator about this... He was surprised... That there was more than qrz.com...

And...
Every day I see callsign in the middle of the sea, Greenland or... from station with continental callsigns... On air... Minus decoding errors, and char switching...(grid j030 instead of jo30)
...but often... I think some operators didn't check twice the data they entered ...
---
...
So when somebody see your callsign with new grid, and the old logs and callbooks shows older data...
How many operators take the old data instead of the new... In remembering that some operators don't check there own data...?

I may have resolved the GW8ASA issue -- at least I hope so. I think that there is someone spotting you and reporting the wrong locator.

Further to last it is less frequent of late. However I am not QRV at the moment having undergone serious eye repair and have to lay belly down. Hope to be back on MS soon.

[Sorry for eventual wrong quoting, I've no clue how to answer here correctly..]
Philip, I installed WSJT-X and configured it as you proposed. Problem: I am still a ham newbie and I'm gathering experience with SSB and CW first; digimodes and all that PC cabeling stuff are not really interesting to me, at least at the moment. Is there any other way to correct the incorrect locators on the psk-reporter map?

best regards
Andreas

(Typo correction: "Is there any other way to correct the incorrect locator" [without "s", of course...;-)])

On the preferences, Reporting tab, there is a checkbox labelled 'Enable PSK Reporter spotting' -- this needs to be checked:

Then leave wsjt-x running and decoding, and within a few minutes, your locator will update.
