Hi, I cannot find this issue reported elsewhere so hope I am not repeating a previous issue

I keep seeing stations reported as being heard by me when they are not.

I am running FT8 using WSJT-X on Ubuntu. The same issue has been in the last 3 revisions of the software.

Not sure if this is how PSKreporter is handling the data from WSJT-X or if WSJT-X is sending the wrong data to PSKreporter??

It is probably easiest to give an example:

I am in the UK
Say I am receiving an Italian station who is in QSO with a Japanese station, BUT I am only receiving the Italian side of the QSO, NOT the Japanese.
PSKreporter shows me as receiving the Japanese station incorrectly.

It appears that the there is an assumption that the whole QSO is being received by me when it is not.

Obviously this gives a false idea of who I am receiving but, also how do I know that stations reported as receiving me are not having the same issue?

Thanks for a great website though.

Dave,

Wow, good example! That would explain some of my observations too! I look forward to the answer to your question.

Thanks,

Thank you, I am so happy that it is not just me.

I would like to hear from someone using JTDX to see if the same issue occurs.

Regards

OK so I've installed JTDX on Ubuntu and run it for a few days for comparison.

So far, no incorrect reporting found, so I suspect that its the Linux version of WSJT-X that is at fault.

JTDX is also giving me many more decodes than WSJT-X when compared side by side and some of the controls are very nice, such as filtering CQ replies by region called.

Wonder if anyone else has made such a comparison?

Dave, your observation would be interesting for the wsjt-devel group. Could be worth if you post it there, too.
