I see a lot of activity using my callsign but I haven't been on the air yet

I'm studying for the Extra to learn as much as I can about how to operate, and the various things I want to do. I'll visit hams and maybe join the local club once I get the license u/g, then figure out which radio and antenna(s) to buy and get on the air. I searched for my callsign KO6LMU and saw a bunch of activity, hundreds of markers. Does this mean someone else is using my callsign, and if so, what should I do about it? Thank you.

I see no reports when searching your call except something 2022 days ago that is no longer visible.

Click "Display Options" and then check "Hide faint monitors" and "Hide monitors if no reports" and search again.

All those little balloons are monitoring stations. If one had heard you, there would be a little flag above it with the number of minutes since they heard you.

No need to wait until you upgrade. Get with folks now and find a radio and get on the air. Search out local clubs, find an Elmer. You may be able to borrow a radio to get started. The important thing is to get on the air and start operating. The only way to learn is by doing.
