Good morning, all.

An “issue” has recently been brought to my attention regarding dies. I have seldom investigated PSI’s die tables, so I really don’t even know if this is a module in PSI we don’t use or a feature that has been disabled.

Basically, in the Die File Maintenance module (Standards/Other/Dies) for a given die (R3084 in this example), I would anticipate the footage of material run on this die per job to add to the existing “Qty Run” field. This field is set to 0 for all dies.

Does anyone know if this is something PSI is doing because of a setting or if we as users are not using the proper fields? Any advice or information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Good morning Grayson;

I do not have access to a PSI db running PSI V2010.1.x (unless we do a ZOOM), but the “QTY RUN” might be updated when you do:

Do you know if anyone does the Job Cost | Update Accumulators???

I do recall that the “Qty Since Sharpening” is reset through the Purchase Order module (when you RECEIVE the PO from the sharpening).

If you are NOT RUNNING the Job Cost | Update Accumulators, I would not recommend that you do it unless you have several hours to let it run – it will find all the records in the Job Cost tables that haven’t been updated and process them – very time consuming.

Maybe someone has a better memory.  I do know that this was an update to the Die Table information made in one of the last versions of PSI (i.e. V2010.x.x).

Thanks, Randall. I don’t think anyone’s updated accumulators in some time. I will try that this evening as everyone’s heading out. I will keep you posted.

Thanks Grayson!!

Obviously look at a BEFORE (below) and AFTER record.  I only played with this once and had to call PSI Support (which tells you how long ago it was) to figure out how to reset the “Qty Since Sharpened”
