Can't start back-end

Hi,
I ma new to Psimulator2. I was just following step by step the tutorial http://www.brianlinkletter.com/psimulator2-graphical-network-simulator/#more-1778. I see it hard to open the back end,so it doesn't show to me the port numbers that each node is listening to. I think i am using java8. 
Any suggestion ?

Did you figure out how to start the backend? I am having the same problem.

I am using psimulator2 on windows.
