Problem connecting to server

Hi, I just tried running Psimulator2 on Ubuntu12.04.

The first problem I had was I was using JRE 6. For anyone who gets an error like this:

$ java -jar psimulator2_frontend.jar

Could not find the main class: psimulator.Main. Program will exit.

I then followed the video, and tried to connect to the the server with the default values (127.0.0.1, port 12000), but I get "Connection establishing wasn't successful. Try again." I tried various ports & checked with netstat -ant; there didn't seem to be any clashes...

Any suggestions would be great.

I noticed psimulator2 allows simulation of Linux routers, making it very useful for people trying to learn networking without relying on proprietary technologies (eg Cisco) :)

Hi,

I just tried to install Psimulator2 on my Windows 7 and it was without a problem.

I was able to send ping from pc2 to pc2 with example.xml configuration file. For more read this thread:
