gMail Problems (failed)

Hello,

I have brought this product and up until the 13th of thid month it
suddenly stopped working and stopped syncing with gMail.

When i start the application it says "Failed". When i try to manually
sync it decides to connect to the internet (i have tried 3 and WLAN)
and disconnected marking its last try and failed.

Can you please tell me what it wrong?

I have https off in gmail settings, pop3 and imap enabled.

Hi,
I have exactly the same problem on 2 seperate phones (N95-8gb and N86)
both running GSync. Both stopped working in the evening (GMT) of 12th
October .
Both were working correctly until then.
Any idea what's happening?

Mine stopped working on the 12th of October as well. What the hell is
going on? Is anyone's Gsync still working?

Hello,

I'm sorry for delay in reply.

We are aware of this problem and we are working on a fix. Due to
changes in Gmail mail system our GSync application has become
incompatibile. As soon as we find a solution for this issue we will
release new version of the application.

I get charged for internet access in 5 minute blocks so everytime I
connect to the internet to use this application it's costing money
just to be told it's not working anymore. I love this application and
I've told a heap of people about it, but if it doesn't work then all
I'm going to do is persuade people to try other programs.

as the limit of messages I can store on my phone etches closer and
closer, I need to know, will you have this fixed before I start losing
messages into the void? Because if you perceive this to be a long term
problem then I'll just go about finding another program and then be
back to talk about a refund.

Can someone from Psiloc please advise how much longer it will be, or
advise how we go about getting refunds for this product.

I was extremely disappointed seens I purchased it today! I know I know
I should have used the trial version first but it worked on my old
phone so I just assumed it would be fine.

Doesn't look like Psiloc is really interested in patching the software
they are still selling that doesn't work :(
I wonder if there is anything we can do to bring it to the attention
of higher up people?

GSync site.

After reading that I'd rather leave https on, but just out of
curiosity I turned it off and it seems to have made no difference,
GSync still reports failed.

That fix has been posted ever since Google introduced the "always use
https" option, and unless the current problem is Google suddenly
requiring SSL sessions it has no relevance whatsoever. I assume that it
was easier to post that than to actually implement SSL support in Gsync...

On the other hand, if the problem IS Google now requiring SSL I can
understand why the fix is late. That would mean a major rewrite of the
code, and lots of testing. It is, however, no excuse for Psiloc to keep
us uninformed about the progress.

It seems that we should warn users not to buy any software from PSILOC
anymore until they fix this problem.
I will go on Nokia forums and we will vote with our feet and get them
feel the pain if they are not listening to us as paying customers.

Hi,
Here are a few links to forums that I go on.They are the biggest
regarding Symbian 3rd edition phones.They have a few thousand hits per
day and lots of people reading their opinions and reviews of
software.So Psiloc will be shown in a bad light if they do not even
repond to their loyal paying customers.

Yes People it is an good idea to abolish PSILOC for not responding to
the problem that is persisting since november, please don't buy any
psiloc application till there is an update on the same.

Just for accuracy-I have tried the "fix" as mentioned on shop page for
Gsync and it does not make a heap of difference.
Its just now working-and probably needs a rewrite-but at least Psiloc
tell us about it and don't pretend your "fix" is working.
I have been disappointed also with the Infra Red Remote Control
application.It just does not work on the Nokia E90 even though it has
an Infrared light beam and can receive and sent out Infrared data
signals.

As of today, SSL is now the default for GMail. I really hope that the
next version of Gsync will support it...

Even the new version is released and solves the "failed" problem we
all had before by implementing imap as a new sync method I still think
that this version need a lot more improvements in order to work as
previous versions used to. It does not organize the messages as
conversations anymore, it seems that the program works random and
sometimes it organize the messages as a conversation and sometimes put
it as a separated messages when it belongs to the previous
conversation.
I think that we waited too long for an update, a lot of users posted
their worries about psiloc was not giving the correct answers in time,
we encounter with a new version almost 6 months latter since previous
version stated to fail (october 20th) and not only that, also the new
version has a lot of flaws compared to the previous ones. Although the
new version is published on the main page it looks like a non finished
product... I wish next time psiloc developers take business on their
hands a little more seriously and give us the customers the answers we
diserve
