Bruce Wayne drives up in his Lamborghini to a luxurious Gotham hotel accompanied by two European women exiting his car. The hotel parking valet commented on Bruce's vehicle, referring it as a "nice car". Bruce replied "You should see my other one."
Bruce takes his Lamborghini out to the streets of Gotham to stop an assassination attempt on Coleman Reese's life issued by the Joker to the citizens of Gotham. Bruce witnesses a driver attempting to hit the police convoy escorting Reese to safety. Bruce speeds up in front and protect the police car by intercepting the blow from the rammed truck that damages Bruce's Lamborghini.
Bruce's Lamborghini is stolen by Selina Kyle after Bruce confronts her at Miranda Tate's charity ball, the former also excusing her theft to the Valet by stating that she was Bruce's wife. It is later impounded outside Wayne Enterprises after Bruce Wayne loses his fortune.
So I went and got the actual disc of this game, put it in the drive thinking it would download any patches while I had dinner and then I could settle into an evening of Batman-ing. And I did... For a while. Until i tried to do the first Riddler mission. It wouldn't let me do anything at the garage under the bridge where it starts.
It says, "please wait while game data is installed." I thought, okay, no biggie, I'll come back to this. Kept playing the story missions and got to the point where you get the new hotness that is the Arkham Knight bat suit. There are some training icons nearby when you get it that all said, "please wait while game data is installed."
Slightly more serious issue, but hey, I know how to go around punching dudes. Played some more and got to the shocking bit inside the chemical plant (will refrain from spoilers, but if you've played it, you know what I'm alluding to). Cuts to black and a full on screen that says installing game data. "Please wait while game data is installed." There's a progress bar stuck firmly at 0%. I can go to the main menu, but it says I saved eight minutes ago and all unsaved progress will be lost. In all the time I've been searching for answers on the net and typing this up, it hasn't changed. At all. 0%.
Update:
Tried again this morning after the console was reset, everything works fine. Just a frustrating evening. I guess the actual application had to be closed and re opened in order for the downloads to finish.
Batman stands out from the crowded universe of "superheroes" because he's just a regular guy. He doesn't possess any supernatural powers (other than loads of money for creating really cool crime-fighting gadgets), but still kicks some serious butt.
Each Batman Mimobot Flash Drive includes "Mimory" -- a collection of Batman-themed digital goodies with which you can trick out your devices. Note: If you don't like these extras, you can always remove them from the drive.
Assign the icons below to your computer's hard drive, folders, and files. Is this just the tiniest bit dorky? Yes, it's just as dorky as Steve Jobs' and Bill Gates' mountainous piles of money. Computers are cool, kids!
Batman is one of the few superheroes whose car is as iconic as he is. Like James Bond, Bruce Wayne gets a fun new Batmobile full of gadgets and tricks with every new iteration. For many, though, the Tim Burton era car is the one that captures the imagination most.
The bigger challenge, though, appears to be size of the driver. As Fernie points out, Batman must be taller than 6 feet because the host spends his whole drive sitting up in his seat, trying to peer over the dash and the enormous hood.
Inside, luxury meets the latest technology. The cabin features a trio of high-definition screens positioned around the steering wheel, offering intuitive control and seamless access to vehicle functions and infotainment. This is a car that cocoons its driver in comfort while making no compromises on delivering an exhilarating driving experience.
The aerospace manufacturing world is changing fast with newer technologies emerging. Technologies - "sense and avoid" avionics, computer-aided design, and material science - has advanced to such a degree that safety authorities are close to giving full approval to flying cars.
Terrafugia, a U.S. based startup, calls on its website www.terrafugia.com for "a new dimension of freedom". Freedom build on "the safety of commercial aviation, the convenience and flexibility of a car, and the freedom of the open sky". Their first product, the Transition is a two-place, fixed wing, street legal airplane which has been internationally heralded as the "first practical flying car". The company has started to take already sales reservations.
The AeroMobil is the European rival of the U.S. Transition and its employs the same principle: a carbon structure with folding wings. It drives along the road like a space-age roadster. It flies through the skies like a private jet. And if everything goes to plan, it could be in customers garages within two years.
On a February afternoon at the airfield in Nitra, 100km east of Bratislava, the car purred out of its hangar, paused to unfold its wings, drove a few hundred meters along the grass field, turned around and took off. From parking space to hundred of meters in the air took just over three minutes. "It started as a dream but it isnt any more," says Juraj Vaculik, one of the co-founder of AeroMobil in a recent FT article. AeroMobil has received "plenty of offers" from automobile, aerospace and IT companies to invest and sign supply agreements with the company. Established industry companies who are keen to bring in experience in scaling up prototypes and managing complex research and development projects.
"We must become a new company, it must be professional and bring in a structure to organize the new technology and production," says Stefan Klein, the second co-founder. AeroMobil have brought a former executive from McLaren, the Formula 1 car manufacturer, on to their board and are working with British regulators and the European Commission to ensure the product meets road and air rules. "We are taking the same steps once taken by Ford or Boeing," he says. "We need more steps, more investment, and improvements. We are creating a new segment."
In an age of 850-seat A380s, 17 hours nonstop flights and interminable waits in security queues, there is an undeniable rush of freedom in seeing a handmade car soar into the skies after trundling out of a garage just moments earlier.
This is just another example of value creation in a Digital World, where leaders are emerging from nowhere. The automotive industry is being disrupted by Google, Tesla and Apple. Industry boundaries are blurring. Will AeroMobil become the new Google of the Aerospace & Defense industry?
