Make compose section of chat window bigger

Is it possible to make the "compose" section (the bit where you type your message) of the chat window bigger? ie, taller than one line of text?  It just feels like I'm trying to type through a letterbox.

maybe this options.ui.chat.use-expanding-line-edit may help

Sadly,  options.ui.chat.use-expanding-line-edit  doesn't achieve what I wanted — it was already set to 'true', and simply makes the window taller as you type a new line.

What I want to do it make the compose section a minimum of two or three lines high by default, just so it's not such a narrow strip to begin with.

(And yes, it's more an aesthetic thing than a functional one; but they're often related, insofar as it's harder to use functions that you find off-putting.)

I see. Then maybe options.ui.chat.chatedit-height

But the logic behind this option is quite tricky. I guess it won't work reliably.

Thanks again for the prompt reply. 

There wasn't an existing  options.ui.chat.chatedit-height entry  (should there have been?)  so I added one, with type "int", based on the line

 <chatedit-height type="int">10</chatedit-height>

in https://github.com/psi-im/psi/blob/master/options/default.xml which  was the only reference I could find to  chatedit-height  anywhere.

But whatever value I enter doesn't have any visible effect on the chat window (or anything else).
