Hi,

I have Confluence 5.5.3 and JIRA 6.3.1 both use Tomcat 7.0.47

I have downloaded PSI Probe 2.3.3 from the website, modified tomcat-users.xml (attached), moved probe.war to $catalina_home/webapps, which is C:/Program Files/Atlassian/Confluence/webapps and restarted Confluence services. A folder "probe" was created in webapps folder, and when I hit probe URL (confluence_url/probe), I am presented with a pop-up window to input username and password. I am using the one from tomcat-users.xml (admin, t0psecret), but it just says that credentials are wrong, and I can't get through it.

I have tried other usernames and password in tomcat-users.xml, but the result is the same. Can someone help me with that? What am I doing wrong?

Thank you,
Roman.

I am having the same issue with both Atlassian Confluence and Jira.  I believe there is a workaround that needs to be added to server.xml but I'd love to know what it is.

My environment is Ubuntu 14.04 LTS
Tomcat 8
PSI Probe 2.4
Confluence 5.9.3
Jira 6.4.7

Cheers

I don't see anything wrong with your setup.  It would seem though you are using a customized version of tomcat so are you sure the tomcat-users.xml you are modifiying is the one being used?  If confluence or jira standalone versions are handling that differently it would need to adhere to their setup.  One way to clearly verify it isn't an issue with us is to take a standalone tomcat and bring it up there.  If it works, you will want to look closer at what confluence/jira are then doing differently.  If that is something we need to provided additoinally support for or even just directions, please submit a pull request over on our github repo.

Thanks,

Jeremy
