optional start session

Hi All.  I'd like normal users visiting my page to not use, or start a session.  I'd like to manually start a session when they login (and then manually resume the session if the plack_session cookie exists)

The only way I can see how to use sessions is with enable 'session' in the builder.  Is there another way?

I'm not using any frameworks, its straight Plack::Request.
