Dear Parents, 

Well it is the end of the year and it's been a cushioned roller coaster for most of us, with the decrease in employment, the recession, and unbelievable climate fluctuations.  But no matter what, our children are here for our tomorrows and deserve to be prepared well for what promises to be an interesting and maybe challenging future.  This will be our last Update for this school year.  If you have any questions please feel free to ask Ms. Hager, Ms. Smith or give us a call at Imani House.  The IHI school phone number is 347 388 0708 (poor reception when she is in the basement), the office 718 638 2059.  THANKS goes out to all of you who cooperated, helped your kids with homework, thanked our staff from time to time and thanked Ms. Alexis for a great school and school year.

Tell her that you want your child to be at the Imani House After-School Program at PS282, tell her why you need this program and ask them to reinstate the IMANI HOUSE program for 2011/12.  I recently learned that DYCD is considering some programs for reinstatement and will make their final decision at the end of this month.

UPDATES:

• LAST DAY - The IHI After-school ends this Friday with a Big Party for the children.  Please don't pick them up early but do pick them up on time.  Donated snacks are welcome.

• NO AFTER-SCHOOL  Monday July 27th, or Tuesday July 28th.  IHI will have no one at the school to watch your children so please pick them up on time.

• REGISTRATION 2011/12 -School Year - Applications are now being accepted.  In order to secure a space please pay a minimum Deposit of $75.00 or a higher amount for the Tuition. Tuition will not increase next year even though IHI will not receive City Funding.  Tuition is:
• Grades k - 8 - $225 a month (Registration requires - First and Last Month Payment and a one time $25 Registration Fee)
• Pre-K - $245 a month
• NO free program for the 2011/12 school year.  The Parent Committee will help IHI decide which families will receive partial scholarships.

• CAMP - Hurry There are only a few spots left. Applications are available at the 282 security desk or our office.  Please, if you have NOT made a deposit, your child is NOT registered.  Remember the Camp accepts only 40 children.

• LATE FEES - If you owe late fees please pay them. Children with out standing fees of any kind will not be able to register for next year.

• THANK YOU to all of the parents who rolled up their sleeves, worked the door, the food table, the raffles, donated food for sale, the planning committees and offered encouragement to our staff and management.  You are totally appreciated.  I will be sending the total funds raised for all Parental Assisted Fundraising soon.
