Subject: Official Release: New York State Math and ELA Test Results

Dear Community Partner,

Thank you for your continued partnership with the New York City Department of Education. As you may know, the New York State Department of Education recently released the official results of the New York State math and ELA tests our students took last spring. These yearly assessments are taken by almost all NYC students in grades 3-8 and are designed to measure mastery of New York State Learning Standards. (Click here to view the press release.)

To enable parents to access their child’s test results as quickly as possible, we hope that your organization will help us share the information below about ARIS Parent Link, an online tool where families can view their child’s results before school starts on September 8. Schools will also provide a printed report for all families in September.

By Wednesday, August 17, families can log in to arisparentlink.org to view their child’s test results. Families who need their username and password can visit an ARIS Parent Link Access station at select libraries between Monday, August 22 and Saturday, August 27. Interpretation services will be provided at each location. Please note: Parents and guardians must bring a photo ID to receive their login information.

A summary of our outreach events is listed below. Please share an outreach flyer about these events and FAQs about the State tests with families. You can find more information about the State tests and ARIS Parent Link here.

ARIS Parent Link (ArisParentLink.org) is a free online tool that provides parents with information about their child’s academic progress and school. It provides the same information educators have about each student all in one place. ARIS Parent Link is translated into Arabic, Bengali, Chinese, French, Haitian Creole, Korean, Russian, Spanish, and Urdu. Parents and guardians of students in a school operated by the New York City Department of Education have access to information through ARIS Parent Link. Parents of students in charter schools should contact their school to request their results.

Thanks,
