For all famlies of incoming second-graders to PS 261: Please see the attached (and pasted below) supply list drawn up by teacher Marcy (and passed on by parent Kate Ryan) to make school supply shopping easier.

Welcome to Second Grade!

 

Please find the classroom supplies that your child needs for second grade. After many years of teaching, we have noticed that certain brands are better than others. Please buy the specified brand (ex. Crayola). The folders we prefer are the cheapie, cheap ones that cost 10 cents a piece at Staples. The 2 plastic folders are also sold at Staples-we think they are $1.99. Please buy only solid colors- we will return any folders or notebooks that have cartoons/pictures on them. Also, PLEASE DO NOT LABEL ANY OF THE ITEMS. WE LABEL THEM OURSLEVES WIH YOUR CHILD’S NAME AND SUBJECT. You can start gathering the supplies now and bring them to school on the first day. For individual class supply lists and wish lists go to the PS 261 website. See you in September!

 

2^nd Grade required supplies:

 

• 5 lined marble composition notebooks (2 for class 313)
• 2 sturdy, solid color plastic folders
• 8 solid colored folders (2 white, 2 yellow, 1 red, 1 purple, 1 blue, 1 green)
• 2 packages CRAYOLA markers (the thick ones)
• 1 package CRAOLA colored pencils (not for class 313)
• 1 bottle Elmer’s Glue
• As many glue sticks as you are willing to buy (preferably not the ones that have purple glue. They just turn into slime)
• 1 package of thin dry erase markers (black or blue only)
• 1 roll Scotch brand clear packing tape
• 1 roll of scotch tape
• 1 package of 11 x 17 construction paper (preferably not bound in book style)
• 2 packages of pencils (sharpened please)
• 1 package of prize stickers
• 1 hard plastic pencil case (only for class 213, you may label this with your child’s name)
• 1 hand held pencil sharpener
• 2 packages of baby wipes
• 2 rolls of paper towels
• 1 box of Ziploc Gallon size bags (preferably EZ zip)
• 2 boxes of tissues
• 1 wooden ruler (not for class 313)
• 2 packages Clorox Wipes
• 1 pack pencil top erasers
• 1 package black felt tip, flare pens
• 1 ream white copy paper (81/2 x 11)
• 1 black sharpie

Does anyone have the supply list for 1^st grade?  The teachers didn’t send it with report grades this year. L

I had one from 2001 but I’m not sure how much it may have changed.
