I've been the advisor of William Paterson University's Student Public Relations Association since its founding in 2007. We are active SGA club for years, but I've avoided seeking an official PRSSA charter due to the cost prohibitiveness of dues for our student population and the lack of a specific Public Relations major. PR has been a track or concentration under general Comm and then Journalism until 2023 when I was able to develop and secure a formal BA in Public Relations. Our new BA in Public Relations launched in Fall 2024.

William Paterson University is a Hispanic (HSI) and Minority (MSI) serving institution and we've also been ranked as a top Social Mobility Index (CollegeNet) which ranks 4-year universities based on a variety of economic mobility measures. We are based in Wayne, NJ.

I am excited to have secured university support for our PR students and our club. As such, we are seeking formal PRSSA charter membership for the 2024/2025 academic year. We are seeking a PRSSA Sponsor Chapter as part of the membership requirement. See the application requirements below.
