It’s a tough one! We are an official student group at DePaul so have our account under the university, which can be a pain as far as red tape but makes it easy to transition between advisors and leaders. We had to empty and just abandon our previous off-campus account when we transitioned to the university account several years ago because we couldn’t close it or change anything due to the original owners being long gone from Chicago, similar to your situation. Does the university's student organization office have any advice, especially since they are making you handle funds on your own? Sorry to not have an answer for you. -- Juliet
