Subject: Re: Stomp Out Event

Just a few questions...right!

1& 2)  We already have someone who's working on the 1 minute introductory videos that will be shown just before each team performs.  What I would like is a separate video, something we send out before the event to drum up interest and then could also be played for the audience just before the show begins.  We did this last year with the Vagina Monologues to good effect, I think and also did it with Dancing with the Athens Stars.  The video could include interviews of team members and maybe some stats or info about teen dating violence or the Breaking Silence initiative.   Make sense? I can pull together the contact info for the various teams for you for this purpose.

3) Yes to content for Breaking Silence page on our website.  Thank you.

4) Yes I'll do interviews at the event, yes phone interviews before the event.

5 &6) Yes please on the press release.  A volunteer did it last year and I don't have a copy.  Yes to as much press as possible.

7) Since this is a Classic Center Theater event, tickets are handled through their box office. We can put a link to the classiccenter box office on our website.  We will have voting through our website for each team starting in November (after the United Way fundraising blackout).  Each team will have a button and people can "vote" for their favorite before and during the show by contributing $1 per vote to Project Safe.  Voting in larger increments and/or voting repeatedly is encouraged.

8) I'm attaching the draft script from last year's show.  The format will be roughly the same (considering only one emcee though) with the emcee introducing the video, then the team, the team performing, the emcee asking a question or two of the captain and coach, then asking for judges' comments.  There will be voting intermissions after team 4 and team 7 (only 7 teams this year), two exhibition performances at the end to entertain the audience while votes are being counted, and then the announcement of the judges' favorite and the audience favorite.

For this year, I plan to have a less of a script, no corny jokes etc. but this will give you the basic format of the show.

I'm expecting the poster for this year's event anytime now from our graphic designer, and I'll send that on when we get it.

Thanks and have a great weekend.

Hi Joan,

We have a few questions before we proceed with the promotional plan for the Stomp Event:

1) Do you have a contact for each of the seven Stomp teams that you could pass along to us so that we could interview them for the one-minute pre-performance videos at the event?

2) During practice and rehearsals, are the teams videoing themselves so that we can use clips for the one-minute pre-performance videos, or will you need us to film?

3) We’ve noticed that there isn’t a page on the website with information about the texting line. We are more than happy to create content; is that what you’d like us to do? If not, do you expect there will be content on the website by the Stomp event, so that we can direct people to it at the event?

 4) If media sources ask for interviews, will you be available for interviews at the Stomp event or prior to the event? If not, would you be willing to do a phone interview if it's requested? Also, will there be an intern or a member of a Stomp team available for interviews at the event?

5) We’d be happy to draft a press release, but wanted to make sure you didn’t already have one. Do you currently have a press release for the Stomp event?

6) For our media outreach, could we also reach out to radio directly to promote Stomp? Or would you just like us to generate radio PSA scripts that you can distribute to radio stations?

 7) Should our guidance for directing people to purchase tickets be to visit project-safe.org? Will the website be updated soon with information on the event for this year?

8) We've brainstormed ideas for the intro video, pre-performance videos, and MC lines, but it would help us to know how our ideas might fit in with the event plan. Is there a written event plan, especially MC script, that we could see?

A little long... Sorry about that. Just get back to me when you have a minute!

Thank you!
