All-

Dr. Russell finished grading/editing our book and I just picked it up. I've included a brief summary of her edits, although we have a lot of work to do. The book is due a week from tomorrow, and aside from designing the actual book layout, putting it together and completing the projects that are still in progress, we have substantial edits to make to the book.

Organizing editing so that all the responsibility does not fall on one person is probably going to take us meeting outside of class. The "event" group is already meeting tomorrow at 6 p.m.-- would everyone be willing to meet then and go over edits/assign re-working in addition to working on the video?

Let me know.

Summary from Russell:

"Good start. Work needed: 1) The situational analysis should synthesize research and summarize problems. This is the most important edit. 2) Tactics need every detail (add to budget and gantt chart, too) 3) Think of a theme that can be incorporated into everything-- more like an ad slogan 4) Be sure the visual identity is consistent throughout. We can meet Wednesday at 10 a.m. to discuss, especially the situational analysis."

There are also notes on every page with edits regarding content. The only section without edits is the research appendix.
Best,
Paula

I just feel like the video project is already going to take a substantial amount of time to complete tomorrow night. By adding an additional meeting on top of that it pretty much is going to make the video project take even longer. Can we just talk about it Wednesday morning and set the deadline for edits then? We don't really have anything else to discuss on Wednesday morning, so why not use that as the time to go over the book and what needs to be done?

I don't think it's a good idea to wait to discuss the book on Wednesday, as edits need to start being made as soon as possible. However, if the whole group thinks Wednesday is best, we will meet then.

Editing the video will take time in terms of just going through it and getting it done but we could talk while we do it? As long as I'm there I'd like to look at the book and start figuring out what else I need to be doing.

I'm with Emily. I think we should hash out what needs to be done tomorrow night so we can go home and start work on it Tuesday evening, and then hash out any questions about it Wednesday morning.

Alright- so let's plan to meet on the 4th floor in Grady at 6 p.m. tomorrow. We will go from there in figuring out how we want to split up video editing, etc. See you all tomorrow.

Best,
Paula

Cathy,

Could you actually just attach it in an email really fast?

That way we can all look at it.
