Great meeting!  It was great to see people I know (Sasha) or followed in the past (Kevin and James) and just recently started following (Roberto).

I will like to share some notes related to the meeting:
  1. Geany is also my desktop IDE of choice. Simple, lightweight, cross platform (http://geany.org/). For servers I use vim or nano or joe.
  2. It seems clasificadosonline.com is still written in "traditional" ASP and runs on IIS.
  3. I also found it difficult getting good geocoding for Puerto Rico in all the popular platforms (Google, Bing, OpenStreetMap).  The best geocoding available is in hands of the AEE (Autoridad Energía Eléctrica) or the least they have the data required to build it.  The government could have the best mapping service for Puerto Rico if they just could work together :/
  4. It is a shame what happened to SNAP. It was such an exciting project.  I was working at the UPR-Cayey when "la Inter" launched SNAP and remember asking myself "Why the UPR doesn’t do something like that to teach programming?".  Another great initiative at the time was BioKnoppix by the UPR's High Performance Computing facility, but development stopped soon after the first version.

The group had a great start with a seed of accomplished Python programmers and entrepreneurs.  I hope to meet you all in person soon.
