My friend from high school in Agartala and also IISc, Bangalore - Dr. Jayanta Ray with like-minded friends located in Bangalore/UK/US started an organization called Proyash almost 10 yrs back - a non-profit organization to help very poor, needy and meritorious students of Tripura and Karnataka. Proyash has helped more than 800 needy students since its inception in 2011.

 

Please see the attached presentation on Proyash's recent activities and the details of Proyash bank account. If you are interested in donating, you could set up an online fund transfer to this account (from your Indian or US based bank), which works quite smoothly. Your generous donation of a few hundred dollars per year can become quite helpful for a poor student enrolled in a professional program.
