Plans for OpenTelemetry Support in ProxySQL?

Hi team,

I’m wondering if there are any plans for ProxySQL to support OpenTelemetry. While the backend monitoring module is helpful, it falls short when it comes to fine-grained query-level visibility and distributed tracing—especially in microservice architectures where trace propagation is crucial for debugging and performance optimization.

OpenTelemetry support (or even hooks for exporting trace context) would go a long way in improving observability and integrating ProxySQL more tightly with modern tracing stacks (like Jaeger or Tempo).

Is this on the roadmap, or is there an existing discussion/issue/PR around it?
