Upgrade path Proxysql and mysql Percona 8.4?

Hi,

I see in the bulletin that proxysql 3.0.1 is a stable release now. It's only been around since Sept 2025 so is that enough time for it to be seen as fully reliable?

I'm using proxysql 2.4.8 (2 yrs old) and am looking to upgrade from mysql percona 8.0 to 8.4.

Is the better upgrade path to upgrade proxysql to 2.7.3 since it's been thoroughly tested and then upgrade mysql to 8.4? I read that mysql monitoring may need to be disabled in 2.7.3 related to replication, which is fine. And then at a later date proxysql could be upgraded to 3.01 ?

Or should mysql 8.0 be upgraded to 8.4 and then upgrade proxysql? What is the best upgrade path?
